Daily Routine

Prince usually slept 4 hours every night. In the morning, he would wake up and answer any business calls. After which Prince headed to the studio and would spend all day in there creating music.

When on big tours, Prince developed the habit of having long soundchecks instead of the usual 20 to 30 minutes that most artists opted for. Prince sometimes took up to 4 hours playing his songs and generally having fun. The opening act would then begin playing at about 6:30 pm while Prince was eating dinner at the hotel. Prince hit the stage about 9 pm and the gig would typically finish at 11 pm.

After the gig, Prince headed to the club or back to the hotel to spend some time in the recording studio. He often spent all night recording until the sun rose the following day which signaled that he had to travel to next city and his routine would start again.
